Our Experienced Team

The clinic team is made up of two statutory registered Osteopaths and two fully qualified Massage Therapists as well as a Collagenics expert and a counsellor. The Osteopaths are both members of the General Osteopathic Council and the British Osteopathic Association. One Osteopath is also trained in Acupuncture and is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society.

 

 

What does an Osteopath do?

With their hands osteopaths identify anomalies within the human structures and function. They then facilitate the bodies ability to heal itself through a variety of stretching, mobilizing and manipulative techniques.

Angus Filshie

Angus Filshie

Angus Filshie is a state registered Osteopath who trained for four years at the British School of Osteopathy, obtaining a General Osteopathic Council recognised BSc Hons.
He has been a practicing osteopath in Nottingham since 2001. His particular interests are manipulative treatment, soft tissue massage and the treatment of sports injuries.

In 2004 Angus studied Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society and is able to uses these skills in his treatment.

Tristan Hill

Tristan Hill

Tristan Hill is a state registered Osteopath who also trained at the British School of Osteopathy gaining a General Osteopathic Council recognised BSc Hons.

He joined the Filshie Clinic team in late 2006 and has proved a very popular addition to our staff.

 

Doerte Tetley

Doerte Tetley is a fully trained massage therapist graduating from New College Nottingham (VTCT) in 2002. She also holds a Diploma in Sports Massage and is qualified in Aromatherapy and in Indian head and neck massage.

Her specialities are relaxing massage, lymphatic drainage massage, deep soft tissue massage and sports massage. Appointments to see Doerte can be arranged throughout the week. She also runs a late clinic on Wednesdays.

Ann Rowlands

Anne Rowlands qualified as an Alexander Technique Teacher in 1989 having completed three years of training at The New Alexander School in Hampstead, London. She is a member of S.T.A.T. (The Society of Teachers of The Alexander Technique).

Anne works with people on a one-to-one basis addressing the causes of many conditions such as back pain, neck and shoulder tension, RSI, breathing disorders, stress related illnesses and general fatigue where poor posture is a contributory factor. She also works with people who have a professional interest in how they use their bodies, such as actors, musicians, singers or those with a keen interest in sports.

Jodie Filshie

Jodie Filshie

Jodie is married to Angus. She is a fully trained massage therapist who graduated from New College Nottingham (VTCT) in 2003.Jodie is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).

Jodie works with all ages and has worked extensively with the elderly enjoying bringing the benefits of massage to this age group.

Her particular interests are massage during pregnancy, lymphatic drainage massage and massage for the elderly.

Mick McAndrew

Mick McAndrew

Mick McAndrew is a Psychology Graduate and Psychiatric Social Worker  He has years of experience in practice, management and training. He has degree in Psychology, and a Masters in Social Policy, Amongst his other qualifications he holds the Certificate of Qualification in Social Work, the Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling and Diplomas in Counselling and Hypnotherapy. Mick is also trained at level III as a smoking cessation advisor. Mick specialises in the treatment of anxiety and depression, and also has an interest in psychological trauma. Having worked for several years as a counsellor for the local autistic society, Mick welcomes enquiries from people who have Aspergers Syndrome and carers in general. Martin Scott

Martin Scott

Martin Scott MSc MCSP is a state-registered physiotherapist who has worked at the Nottingham Shoulder & Elbow Unit since 2000. He undertakes research and lectures internationally on rehabilitation for the shoulder. www.hurtarms.com.
